6 Bottle Staff Fave Whites
Our staff favourites white case begins with the Cheverny Blanc from Domaine du Salvard. Cheverny is a small village near to Sancerre and, as with a lot of the small villages in the Loire, offers great value for money as you are not paying for the name. This wine has a little Chardonnay added to the Sauvignon Blanc to give the wine a touch more weight and complexity. It's a cracker. The Pinot Grigio from Cortegiara (owned by Allegrini) is a wine with real depth and flavour, not another bland Pinot Grigio. Lots of ripe stone fruit, good acidity and a touch of minerality, customers have been really taken with this. And finally, another Kim Crawford wine has made the mixed case spot with the Sauvignon Blanc being a real eye-opener. I wasn't expecting too much from it but enjoyed it so much I was forcing anybody and everybody to try it! Packed full of ripe gooseberry, pineapple and passionfruit with a fab balanced acidity it's an absolute joy.
