Yves Cuilleron has been one of the more recent stars of the Northern Rhone for some time and I think that this wine is amazing.  However I must warn you that it won't be to everyone's taste.  Mike who loves his New World Shiraz wasn't a fan at all.  Medium to full bodied it is an extremely savoury red with plenty of smoked bacon notes, farmyard aromas and brimming over with black olive flavours.  It isn't designed to be an easy drinker while watching the telly but needs food to show at it's very best.  I have tried it with venison and it was awesome and I'm sure it would partner many other game dishes.  One for a fan of the region and style or the adventurous.
